Rube Goldberg Contest

Today we had to present our Rube Goldberg machines. Our machine was decently complex:

But we had a good team:

The class was divided into two groups who presented simultaneously to save time. Our team was the first team in the 2nd group to go.

The Machine in Action

The machine worked great, and it was one of only 3 machines that worked without assistance. Because of that, we won best of the 2nd group, but this only meant that we had to present all over again. The two best teams went, and the other team's machine was more artistic and had a little theme and story behind it, but although it worked fine the first time, a few places failed the second time. Unfortunately, it was the same for us, and because of that, it was an easy victory for the other team. We still received a prize of a bag of candy though.

After class, I cleaned my room because room inspections are tomorrow, and I also started packing and did laundry. I have no idea when the next time I'll be able to wash my clothes will be while I'm traveling. Afterward, I went to the nearby book store to get some souvenirs wrapped before I left. Then, I went to Itadakimsu to eat. After I ordered, Okuno-sensei and Suda-sensei also came in, so I sat with them and we chatted, mostly in Japanese but I'm getting ok at conversing. We talked about my plans after the program, and about how if I want to climb Mt. Fuji, it'll be a little tough. After the meal, before I even realized what was happening, Okuno-sensei had payed for my meal. She is just way too nice, huh? I thanked her a lot, and then we went back to Nishikawa Heights.

Before I left, some of the SGE students had started to make curry in my kitchen, but since I don't eat meat I went out to eat. When I got back, it was a bit of a party going on in my bedroom and the kitchen. But soon everyone had to go because they decided to go to Karaoke one more last time before we left. I think I've gone enough for the whole trip to Japan, so I'll sit this one out. Now I just have to finish packing and get ready for the closing ceremony tomorrow.
