Asakusa

Today we left the Yokohama hostel and went to Asakusa. This will be the last place we stay before we fly home to America on Friday. The hotel we're staying at is pretty nice, but it was a little more expensive than the other ones we've stayed at. The most important part is that the neighborhood is much better.

Asakusa is pretty touristy, the hotel we're at is basically all foreigners, and the shopping street nearby is all touristy knick-knacks, but there's some good stuff too. We did a little shopping there, and we also found an Indian restaurant, the first one I've seen in Japan. I had cheese naan, and Xander had the buffet, it was all really good. Perhaps the best Indian restaurant I've been to, pretty cheap too. There's a Starbucks right near the Asakusa train station, so I went there too.

The cold I caught on the sleeper train to Sapporo is still sticking around, and the hotel staff felt bad for me so they gave me some medicine. It's this white powder that you drink with water with each meal, I haven't seen anything quite like it before. I went to bed early hoping to get over the cold.
